Valencia, 07.06.18 IMED Valencia bet for the combination of standing professionals and technology to make a forefront clinical and sports cardiology service. The service, managed by Dr. Óscar Fabregat, has a multidisciplinary team of standing professionals and the last medical diagnosis and therapeutic progress.
The setting up of this unit allows to offer all range of services that sets the cutting edge cardiology service as it is, the clinical cardiology of outpatients clinic and hospitalization, coronary unit built-in the ICU, cardiac surgery, haemodynamic, arrhythmia and electrophysiology unit and non invasive imaging diagnosis unit. Together with these services, IMED Valencia has created the Sports Cardiology unit focused in the assistance of everyone that practice sports or want to begin in the sports field in a safe way.

Sports check-up , the key to prevent and guarantee health
Integrated in the Sports Cardiology Service is the sports check-up unit equipped with technical and human means needed to offer a first level service to all athletes that want to develop their activity in a safe way, know their limits and improve efficiency.
Athlete health plans are check-up directed to everyone that practice sports in a regular way, elite athletes or amateurs. The sports cardiology unit of IMED Valencia has the most advanced means to perform test directed to the safe development of physical activities of the athlete. Health plans include different tests and consultations related with the sports area (foot biomechanical studies, nutrition, etc.).
According to Dr. Óscar Fabregat “to have sports check-up is important, but for sure is important for those who had a sedentary life and begin late the sports activity”.
Full sports check-up performed in the cardiology service of IMED Valencia include a first examination consultation with the sports cardiologist, a specific blood test, an ECG, an echocardiogram, ergo-spirometry and a final report with the cardiologist valuation, everything with the confidence of performing it in a hospital environment that have the most modern technology.
“What we search in the sports cardiology service is to solve patients needs, all of them with their habits and previous conditions, adjusting to each athlete to give the best advice” declared Dr. Fabregat.
