Murcia, November 6, 2024.- The new private hospital in Murcia, IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta, will begin operations next Monday, November 11. Designed in line with the IMED Hospitales care model, the hospital aims to provide patients with comprehensive healthcare using the most advanced technology. With 40 outpatient consultation rooms, IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta will offer services across most clinical specialties with a fully dedicated professional team.
The new facility from the IMED healthcare group includes 45 beds and a 24-hour emergency department equipped with 4 observation rooms, 1 resuscitation room, and 4 consultation rooms. The hospital also features 8 state-of-the-art integrated operating rooms and a recovery room. Additionally, its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is equipped with 8 beds. The hospital offers blood draw and clinical analysis services, which can be accessed without a prior appointment.
The construction and outfitting of IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta represented an investment exceeding €30 million. Among its advanced technology equipment, the hospital highlights its comprehensive imaging diagnostic service, equipped with cutting-edge tools such as a 1.5 Tesla MRI, multi-slice CT, tomosynthesis mammography, densitometry, ultrasound devices, and conventional radiology systems.

Another new feature at IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta is its interventional radiology suite, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for diagnostic studies or minimally invasive treatments. This unit is prepared to address vascular conditions through interventional techniques in hemodynamics and electrophysiology, radiology, and neuroradiology. Additionally, IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta has assembled a specialized professional team and technological resources to become a regional reference hospital in cardiology, trauma care, and general surgery. With 250 professionals at launch, IMED aims to grow its team to over 350 healthcare and administrative staff as it reaches full capacity.
IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta is conveniently located along one of Murcia’s main thoroughfares, Avenida Juan Carlos I, near the Carrefour Zaraiche shopping center. It offers easy access from both the city center and its surrounding areas.
IMED Hospitales, present in the Murcia region since 2020, also operates a radiotherapy oncology center near Nueva Condomina.
